Recently, there are more and more foreign tourists who are interested in Japanese cultures of Ninja and Samurai, which created a trend of starting Ninja and Samurai hands-on lessons in English taught by Japanese Masters who have acquired authentic Ninja and Samurai arts and techniques.

Difference between Samurai & Ninja

Samurai (bushi) were an armed group that served the nobility in the Heian period and ruled the country from the Kamakura period to the Edo period.
Ninja were active in the backstage in every age, and served feudal lords since the Warring States period.

In addition, Ninja are those who use “Ninjutsu” and Samurai are those who use “Bujutsu”.
Ninjutsu are the response methods for espionage activities, such as shurikens, and small swords.
Bujutsu are training and knowledge for times of war, such as swordsmanship, archery, horsemanship, etc.

Why did Ninja become so famous abroad?

Japan used to be very famous for video games, and many Ninja appeared in video games that originated in Japan.
As time went by, Ninja became a worldwide hit with “NARUTO,” one of the most popular works of Cool Japan.
Thus, although the real-life ninja do not exist now, Ninja have always been the hero of stories.
